Nutrition Training Commenced at SADI


Lahore (May 5, 2016): Three days intensive training course on "Dairy Nutrition & Feeding Management" has commenced at Solve Agri & Dairy Institute (SADI), Lahore earlier today. The course kicked off at SADI with the inaugural session. Head of SADI Dr. Muhammad Rasheed welcomes the participants at the course and highlighted that objective of this three days intensive course. He said that the course is aimed at enhancing knowledge & skills of the participants about feeding aspects in modern dairy farm management. He emphasized that the course has been designed utilizing competence based learning principles and will largely apply the participatory approach hence providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge and enhance understanding of the subject.

Speaking at the occasion, Solve Agri Pak (Private) Limited's General Manager Dr. Waseem Shaukat said that Solve Agri Pak has been proud in setting up Solve Agri & Dairy Institute back in February 2011 that has emerged as leading private sector skills development centre for dairy, livestock & related agriculture sectors in Pakistan by now. He highlighted that SADI has been at fore-front in tackling growing needs of human resource development in livestock sector with pre-designed as well as customized training courses for a wide range of audience, from smallholder rural dairy farmers to qualified veterinarians and livestock professionals. He congratulated the participants on being nominated for the course and urged them to utilize this opportunity for understanding the science of dairy nutrition and learning the art of feeding management at the dairy farms.

It is worth mentioning that 19 participants from Punjab, Sindh and KPK are attending the course belonging to Haleeb Foods Limited, DuPont / Pioneer Pakistan Seed Limited, ICI Pakistan Limited and Doctors Dairy Feed. The three days intensive course on Dairy Nutrition & Feeding Management will focus on various aspects including Basics of dairy nutrition, Calculating nutritional requirement of animals, Formulating rations and balancing diets for animals, Agronomy aspects of quality forage production & preservation, Impact of feeding on body condition scoring, Feed quality assurance, Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for feeding, Economics of feeding etc. It is pertinent to mention that the same course will be repeated on May 18-20, 2016. Those interested may get registered now.
